Abstract
Se describe una unidad tractora para transportar una carga alargada, como una pala de turbina eólica o un segmento de torre de turbina eólica. La estructura de unidad tractora está soportada, conducida y dirigida por un juego de ruedas que comprende al menos tres ruedas de contacto con el suelo. Al menos dos de las ruedas son dirigibles y pueden transformarse entre un modo de funcionamiento alineado y un modo de funcionamiento de carrusel. En el modo alineado, las ruedas están alineadas entre sí en una posición de dirección neutra y se pueden dirigir para variar la dirección del direccionamiento. En el modo carrusel, las ruedas del juego de ruedas están orientadas con sus ejes de rotación que se cruzan en un eje vertical sustancialmente común ubicado dentro de la extensión lateral de la estructura de unidad tractora, de modo que cuando se conducen las ruedas, la unidad tractora gira alrededor de este eje vertical común. Un mecanismo de acoplamiento de carga está montado de forma pivotante en la estructura de unidad tractora alrededor del eje vertical común. Esto permite que el mecanismo de acoplamiento de carga gire en sentido contrario en una cantidad opuesta o igual a la rotación angular de la estructura de unidad tractora en modo carrusel, manteniendo la carga en una posición fija con respecto al suelo mientras la unidad tractora gira.
