Abstract

Se describe un mecanismo de codificación de video. El mecanismo incluye particionar una imagen para crear por lo menos una unidad de árbol de codificación (coding tree unit, CTU) con por lo menos un nodo de árbol de codificación. El mecanismo además incluye determinar que la altura del nodo de árbol de codificación es mayor que una altura máxima de la unidad de transformada (transform unit, TU) o el ancho del nodo de árbol de codificación es mayor que un ancho máximo de la TU. El mecanismo además incluye seleccionar un modo de división para el nodo de árbol de codificación con base en la determinación. El modo de división se selecciona de una división de árbol cuádruple, una división de árbol binario horizontal y no división. El mecanismo además incluye aplicar el modo de división al nodo de árbol de codificación para crear una o más unidades de codificación (coding units, CUs). El mecanismo además incluye codificar las CUs en un flujo de bits. El mecanismo además incluye transmitir el flujo de bits hacia un decodificador.
