Abstract

Se proporciona un método para fabricar un artículo refractario. El método incluye: a) mezclar un sistema aglutinante, una carga refractaria y un segundo aglutinante coloidal para formar una suspensión acuosa; b) verter la suspensión acuosa en un molde; c) someter el molde que contiene la suspensión acuosa a una temperatura inferior a la temperatura de fundición de suspensión durante un tiempo suficiente para formar un artículo de resistencia en verde; y d) cocer el artículo de resistencia en verde a una temperatura de al menos 450 ºC durante un tiempo suficiente para lograr la homogeneidad térmica, formando así un artículo refractario. Los artículos refractarios fabricados de acuerdo con el método tienen una combinación única de estructura de poros y propiedades mecánicas.
