Abstract

Se ha preparado un fertilizante de liberación controlada que comprende un núcleo de nutrientes recubierto con uno o más recubrimientos de barrera contra la humedad, comprendiendo al menos uno de los recubrimientos de barrera contra la humedad: al menos una cera de polietileno; y un poliuretano termoestable de la reacción de un poliol y un poliisocianato. La relación en peso de poliuretano termoestable a cera de polietileno es de aproximadamente 50:50 a aproximadamente 98:2. La cera de polietileno se calienta por encima del punto de fusión de la cera de polietileno y se mezcla y dispersa en el componente de poliol del poliuretano termoestable en una proporción de 90-70% de poliol a 10-30% de cera de polietileno antes de que la mezcla termoestable de formación de poliuretano se aplique a la superficie del núcleo de nutrientes y se cure. Un recubrimiento de una cera microcristalina de alta temperatura puede ser aplicado antes del curado final del poliuretano termoestable a las partículas del núcleo de nutrientes recubiertas.
