Abstract

Una composición de poliol se elabora mediante la polimerización de una mezcla de óxido de etileno y óxido de propileno sobre una mezcla de al menos un iniciador de diol y al menos un iniciador de triol, seguida de la polimerización de 100% de óxido de propileno o una mezcla de al menos 90 por ciento en peso de óxido de propileno y 10 por ciento en peso como máximo de óxido de etileno. La composición de poliol resultante tiene un peso equivalente de hidroxilo de 200 a 400 y una funcionalidad nominal promedio de 2.05 a 2.95 grupos hidroxilo/molécula. Del 5 al 30 por ciento de los grupos hidroxilo de poliol de poliéter coiniciado son grupos hidroxilo primarios y el óxido de etileno polimerizado constituye del 40 al 63 por ciento del peso total del poliol de poliéter coiniciado.
