Abstract
Se describen composiciones de vidrio y fibras de vidrio que tienen constantes dieléctricas bajas y factores de disipación bajos que pueden ser adecuados para su uso en aplicaciones y artículos electrónicos. Las fibras y composiciones de vidrio de la presente invención pueden incluir entre 45.0 a 58.0 por ciento en peso de SiO2; mayor que 18.0 por ciento en peso de B2O3 y no mayor que 26.0 por ciento en peso de B2O3; mayor del 16.0 por ciento en peso de AI2O3 y no más del 23.0 por ciento en peso de AI2O3; entre 0.25 a 12.0 por ciento en peso de P2O5; mayor que 0.25 por ciento en peso de CaO y menor que 5.00 por ciento en peso de CaO; menos del 4.50 por ciento en peso de MgO; mayor que 0.25 por ciento en peso de CaO+MgO y menor que 5.00 por ciento en peso de CaO+MgO; menos del 0.80 por ciento en peso de Fe2O3; y menos del 0.50 por ciento en peso de TiO2. Además, la composición de vidrio tiene una viscosidad de vidrio de 1,000 poises a una temperatura superior a 1,350 grados Celsius.
