Abstract

Se dan a conocer proteínas Klotho recombinantes, ácidos nucleicos que codifican las mismas, líneas celulares y cultivos que expresan las mismas, y un método de producción y administración de las mismas. Las proteínas tienen por lo menos 80% de identidad de secuencias de aminoácidos con una porción de Klotho alfa humana y, de preferencia, un atributo de solubilidad o extensión de vida media, tal como glucosilación y/o etiqueta de proteína de fusión. Los protocolos de tratamiento incluyen determinar los niveles de Klotho en un sujeto, calcular una dosificación de la proteína suficiente para elevar el nivel de Klotho en el sujeto a un nivel predeterminado, administrar la dosificación al sujeto, determinar una tasa de decaimiento de proteína en el sujeto después de la administración de la proteína, calcular un tiempo y/o cantidad de una dosificación subsecuente de la proteína, y/o administrar la dosificación subsecuente al sujeto. Se dan a conocer proteínas y tratamientos relacionados para abordar los padecimientos asociados con el envejecimiento y de otro tipo.
