Abstract
Para la industria naviera, estos combustibles brindan soluciones a problemas técnicos prolongados que hasta el momento dificultaron el suministro de combustibles marinos con bajo contenido de azufre en las cantidades necesarias para cumplir los objetivos mundiales de reducción de azufre. El uso marítimo de aceites de bunker con alto contenido de azufre se considera la mayor fuente de emisiones de SOx del transporte mundial. Cuando los barcos en mar abierto queman aceites pesados baratos de bajo grado con alto contenido de azufre, nitrógeno y metales, el SOx, el NOx y los óxidos metálicos van al medio ambiente. Esta invención convierte esencialmente todo el barril de alimentación de crudo en un solo combustible ultra limpio en comparación con el refino convencional donde la alimentación de crudo se divide en muchas piezas, y cada pieza se envía a una trayectoria de mercado diferente que cumple con varias especificaciones de productos diferentes. Cuando están en el puerto, los barcos pueden usar estos combustibles para generar y vender electricidad a las redes eléctricas terrestres para compensar el costo del combustible de una manera ecológica.
