Abstract

La presente invención se refiere al uso de una proteína tolerante a herbicidas, en la que el método para controlar malezas comprende aplicar un herbicida que contiene una dosis efectiva de tribenurón-metilo a un entorno de crecimiento de planta donde está presente al menos una planta transgénica, donde la planta transgénica comprende una secuencia de nucleótidos que codifica una thifensulfuron hydrolase en su genoma, y en comparación con otras plantas sin la secuencia de nucleótidos que codifica la hidrolasa, la planta transgénica ha reducido el daño a las plantas y / o un aumento en el rendimiento de la planta. La presente invención revela por primera vez que una thifensulfuron hidrolasa puede mostrar una alta tolerancia a un herbicida de tribenurón-metilo, las plantas que contienen una secuencia de nucleótidos que codifica la thifensulfuron hidrolasa son fuertemente tolerantes al herbicida tribenuron-metilo y al menos pueden tolerar 1 veces concentración de campo, y por lo tanto la hidrolasa tiene amplias perspectivas de aplicación en las plantas.
