Abstract
En la presente se describen métodos y sistemas para procesar datos de nubes de puntos con un escáner de línea. Una modalidad adopta la forma de un método que incluye: recibir una nube de puntos 3D que es representativa de un objeto; utilizar uno o más escáneres de líneas para identificar uno o más límites exteriores respectivos del objeto; y dimensionar el objeto en base a puntos en la nube de puntos, donde cada uno de los puntos en la nube de puntos que se usan para dimensionar el objeto está en o dentro de cada límite exterior identificado.
