Abstract
La presente invención se relaciona con un proceso para purificar metacrilato de metilo alimentando una mezcla de producto que comprende metanol, metacrilato de metilo y sales de metales alcalinos de los mismos, metacroleína, agua y subproductos pesados a una columna de destilación que tiene por lo menos 15 platos. La mezcla de producto y un hidrocarburo C6-C7 entran a la columna de destilación encima de la mitad de la columna de destilación. Se remueven de la columna una corriente de cabeza que comprende un hidrocarburo C6-C7, metacroleína, metanol, agua y metacrilato de metilo y una corriente de fondos que comprende agua, metacrilato de metilo y su sal de metal alcalino y subproductos pesados.
