Abstract
En la presente se proporcionan métodos para usar una fosfolipasa IIa similar a la patatina mutada (``pPLAIIa´´, renombrada en la presente como MATRILINEAL) con el fin de inducir inducción de haploides en plantas, clonar una pPLAIIa para inducir inducción de haploides en plantas y modificar genéticamente una planta para que contenga una pPLAIIa mutada. También se proporcionan métodos para aplicar moléculas de iARN, lípidos y agentes químicos como un espray o por vía tópica a plantas durante la polinización con el fin de inducir la producción de haploides. Se proporcionan además métodos para tratar plantas químicamente durante la polinización con el fin de inducir haploides a la vez que también se reduce el aborto de embriones y se incrementa el conjunto de semillas.
