Abstract

Se proporcionan métodos para preparar un material absorbente de mercurio; los métodos comprenden hacer una mezcla de cobre/arcilla al mezclar una arcilla seca y una fuente de cobre seco; hacer una mezcla de azufre/arcilla al mezclar una arcilla seca y una fuente de azufre seco; mezclar la mezcla de cobre/arcilla y la mezcla de azufre/arcilla para formar una pre-mezcla de material absorbente de mercurio; y cortar la pre-mezcla de material absorbente de mercurio para formar el material absorbente de mercurio; varios substratos se pueden utilizar con o en lugar de la arcilla, y varios aditivos se pueden agregar al cobre, azufre, arcilla o mezclas de los mismos.
