Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un gen Cullin1 modificado que conduce a un tipo de planta que permite un cultivo eficiente y/o es adecuado para situaciones que requieren porciones más pequeñas, o reduce el trabajo, tiempo y gastos relacionados con el almacenamiento, manejo y transporte de hojas de plantas redundantes. La invención también se refiere a plantas que comprenden el gen Cullin1 modificado. El gen Cullin1 modificado proporciona a las plantas un fenotipo de crecimiento compacto, es decir, que comprende una longitud de entrenudo más corta y/o un área de hoja más pequeña en comparación con las plantas que no comprenden el gen Cullin1 modificado. La invención se refiere además al uso del gen Cullin1 modificado para la identificación y desarrollo de una planta que muestra un fenotipo de crecimiento compacto, es decir, que comprende entrenudos más cortos y/o un área de hoja más pequeña.
