Abstract

La invención se refiere a un método para elaborar un fertilizante de fosfato de amonio a partir de una solución acuosa de ácido fosfórico que tiene menos del 50% de concentración de P2O5 y se obtiene mediante el tratamiento en húmedo del mineral de fosfato, el ácido fosfórico contiene trazas de cadmio, que comprende las siguientes etapas: (a) neutralizar la solución de ácido fosfórico (1) con amoniaco (3) hasta una proporción molar N/P de entre 0.1 y 0.8, (b) hacer reaccionar la solución parcialmente neutralizada (4) con una fuente de sulfuro (6) para así formar un precipitado de sulfuro de cadmio (9), (c) separar el precipitado (9) para así obtener una solución de ácido fosfórico amónico refinado (10), (d) amoniacar y granular la solución refinada (10) para así formar el fertilizante (12).
