Abstract

Se proporciona un método para preparar un elemento óptico que colorea en un patrón lineal no uniforme. El método incluye (i) proporcionar un elemento óptico que previamente se ha tratado con una composición fotocrómica que contiene al menos un primer material fotocrómico, en donde la composición fotocrómica tiene un espectro de absorbancia en la región de activación fotocrómica; (ii) preparar al menos una composición absorbente de la luz que contiene un absorbente de luz ultravioleta, un segundo material fotocrómico que es el mismo o diferente que el primer material fotocrómico, o mezclas de los mismos, en donde la composición absorbente de luz tiene un espectro de absorbancia que se superpone con el de la composición fotocrómica en la región de activación fotocrómica; (iii) depositar la composición absorbente de luz sobre la superficie del elemento óptico fotocrómico en un patrón predeterminado y controlado usando un aparato de impresión por inyección de tinta para proporcionar un patrón de color de gradiente lineal luego de la exposición a radiación actínica; y (iv) secar la composición absorbente de luz. También se proporciona un elemento óptico.
