Abstract
En la presente descripción se describe un dispositivo de seguridad para un dispositivo de movimiento mecánico y un método para proteger a una persona u objeto en el área adyacente a un dispositivo de movimiento mecánico. El dispositivo de seguridad puede incluir una cubierta; un mecanismo de acoplamiento; y un dispositivo de detección. El mecanismo de acoplamiento une la cubierta de manera desplazable a un dispositivo de movimiento mecánico. El dispositivo de detección se configura para comunicarse con el sistema de control de seguridad de un dispositivo de movimiento mecánico. El dispositivo de detección es capaz de detectar la alineación incorrecta de la cubierta con respecto a su posición de alineación inicial y/o una colisión entre la cubierta y una persona u objeto. El dispositivo de detección puede enviar una señal al sistema de control de seguridad del dispositivo de movimiento mecánico para al menos ralentizar el movimiento del dispositivo de movimiento mecánico antes de que el dispositivo de movimiento mecánico llegue al lugar de la colisión de la cubierta con un objeto o persona.
