Abstract

Un sistema para formar una composición elastomérica para aplicación a un sustrato incluye un componente isocianato y un componente reactivo con isocianato. El componente isocianato incluye un poliisocianato polimérico y opcionalmente un prepolímero terminado en isocianato. El componente reactivo con isocianato es reactivo con el componente isocianato e incluye un componente poliol y una poliéteramina. El componente poliol es una mezcla de (a) un poliol hidrofóbico; (b) un poliol poliéter diferente del poliol hidrofóbico y que tiene un peso molecular promedio ponderado mayor que 500 g/mol; y (c) un poliaminopoliol. La composición elastomérica se forma como el producto de reacción del componente isocianato y el componente reactivo con isocianato y se puede aplicar como una capa de recubrimiento elastomérico sobre un sustrato tal como una tubería de acero. La tubería de acero que tiene la capa de recubrimiento elastomérico aplicada cumple el estándar de uso en la industria de suministro de agua expuesta en AWWA C222.
