Abstract

Un sistema de prepolímero tiene un contenido de isocianatos monoméricos no mayor que aproximadamente 10% en peso con base en 100 partes en peso del sistema de prepolímero. El sistema de prepolímero comprende un componente de diluyente y un componente de prepolímero diferente y separado del componente de diluyente. El componente de diluyente tiene un exceso de grupos funcionales isocianato (NCO), y comprende el producto de la reacción de un componente reactivo con isocianato monohídrico y un exceso de un primer componente de isocianato. El primer componente de isocianato comprende isocianatos monoméricos reactivos con el componente reactivo con isocianato monohídrico El componente de prepolímero tiene también un exceso de grupos funcionales NCO y comprende el producto de la reacción de un componente de poliol y un exceso de un segundo componente de isocianato. El sistema de prepolímero puede utilizarse para preparar espuma a través de reacción con agua. Las espumas tienen baja densidad y excelentes propiedades de adhesión y amortiguamiento del sonido para su uso en cavidades de carrocerías de automóviles.
