Recubrimiento (210) depositado sobre una superficie de un sustrato (201) que comprende una película multicapas (216) consistente en una pluralidad de capas A y una pluralidad de capas B depositadas alternativamente una sobre otra formando una arquitectura A/B/A/B/A..., comprendiendo las capas A nitruro de aluminio, cromo y boro y comprendiendo las capas B nitruro de aluminio y cromo y no comprendiendo boro, en donde la película multicapas (216) comprende al menos una primera porción (216a) y una última porción (216c), en donde el contenido medio de boro en la primera porción de recubrimiento (216a) es mayor que el contenido medio de boro en la última porción de recubrimiento (216c), y tanto la primera porción de recubrimiento (216a) como la última porción de recubrimiento (216c) presentan tensiones compresivas inherentes y en donde la tensión compresiva inherente en la primera porción de recubrimiento (216a) es menor que la tensión compresiva inherente en la última porción de recubrimiento (216c).
