Abstract

La presente solicitud tiene por objeto proporcionar una composición y un método para estabilizar y mantener la viabilidad de microorganismos resistentes desde la recolección de muestras hasta el análisis posterior. En particular, existe un método para conservar bacterias resistentes viables, tales como Mycobacterias, Bacillus Anthracis o Clostridium difficile, en una muestra biológica, que comprende poner en contacto la muestra biológica con una composición de estabilización, en donde la composición de estabilización comprende un agente quelante, un agente desnaturalizante, una sal y tiene un pH de entre aproximadamente 6 y aproximadamente 11.
