Abstract

Un método para recuperar petróleo crudo de un yacimiento en el que se ha practicado al menos un pozo de inyección (14) y al menos un pozo de producción (16), en el que el yacimiento comprende una o más primeras capas de roca carbonatada y una o más segundas capas (4) de roca carbonatada, (2, 6) teniendo cada una de ellas petróleo crudo y agua residente presentes en su espacio poroso, siendo la una o más segundas capas de roca carbonatada adyacentes a al menos una de las primeras capas de roca carbonatada, donde no existe ninguna barrera o barrera semipermeable al agua en la interfase entre las segundas y primeras capas de roca carbonatada, teniendo la una o más primeras capas de roca carbonatada un contenido relativamente elevado en mineral de sulfato soluble en agua y teniendo la una o más segundas capas de roca carbonatada un contenido relativamente bajo de mineral de sulfato soluble en agua, comprendiendo el método: aislar las segundas capas de roca carbonatada de la comunicación hidráulica directa con el pozo de inyección; inyectar un agua de inyección que tiene un contenido de sólidos disueltos totales (TDS) inferior al contenido en TDS del agua residente procedente del pozo de inyección en la(s) primera(s) capa(s) de roca carbonatada formando de esta manera un fluido de desplazamiento acuoso enriquecido en sulfato mediante la disolución de los minerales de sulfato soluble en agua de la(s) primera(s) capa(s) de roca carbonatada en el agua de inyección, en el que el fluido de desplazamiento acuoso enriquecido en sulfato fluye a través de la(s) primera(s) capa(s) de roca carbonatada y desde la(s) primera(s) capa(s) de roca carbonatada al interior y a través de la(s) segunda(s) capa(s) de roca carbonatada desplazando de esta forma el petróleo hacia el pozo de producción.
