Abstract

Se describe un método de interpretación automática de los rasgos de diana y sinusoidales observados en imágenes de LWD. En algunas modalidades, el método incluye un flujo de trabajo automático para extraer contornos uniformes a partir de imágenes que demarcan límites de rasgos estructurales, seguido de la proyección de los contornos en nubes de puntos tridimensionales (3D) en el sistema de coordenadas del pozo para su interpretación estructural. El método puede caracterizar tanto rasgos sinusoidales como de diana teniendo en cuenta las variaciones de inclinación/azimut de la formación de o azimut/inclinación del pozo en la topología de un rasgo estructural. El método descrito puede ser lo suficientemente rápido para utilizarse en la interpretación y análisis en tiempo real o para proveer límites para el procesamiento de inversión de datos físicos.
