Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método para producir un material queratinoso digerible, que comprende las etapas de hidrolizar el material queratinoso en presencia de agua, en un hidrolizador con vapor y a una presión que oscila entre aproximadamente 2 bar y aproximadamente 15 bar, y secar el material queratinoso hidrolizado resultante que comprende un material al menos parcialmente insoluble en un secador en una combinación de temperatura/tiempo/presión que limita la disminución de la digestibilidad de pepsina y/o ileal a menos del 10%, y/o de modo tal que la digestibilidad de pepsina y/o ileal sigue siendo superior al 85%, o de modo tal que la digestibilidad de pepsina y/o ileal sigue siendo superior al 75% y 85%, respectivamente. Preferentemente, el secado del material queratinoso parcialmente soluble hidrolizado resultante se lleva a cabo en un secador a una temperatura tal que el material queratinoso sigue estando a una temperatura inferior a 90°C, preferentemente, inferior a aproximadamente 80°C.
