Abstract
Un proceso continuo para la co-producción de ácido acético y anhídrido acético por (a) poner en contacto monóxido de carbono con una composición de reacción líquida que comprende acetato de metilo, dimetil éter o una mezcla de los mismos, un catalizador de metal del Grupo VIII, yoduro de metilo , ácido acético, anhídrido acético, agua en una concentración de 0.1% en peso o menos, (b) retirar composición de reacción líquida de la zona de reacción y la introducción de al menos una porción de la composición de reacción líquida retirada en una zona de separación flash, y (c) eliminar de la zona de separación flash una fracción de vapor que comprende anhídrido acético, ácido acético y yoduro de metilo, y una fracción líquida que comprende anhídrido acético, y un catalizador de metal del Grupo VIII en donde al menos una de la composición de reacción líquida y la composición de reacción líquida retirada introducida en la zona de separación flash comprende al menos una sal metálica seleccionada a partir de sales de Grupo IA y metales del Grupo IIA y la relación molar de ácido acético a anhídrido acético en la fracción de vapor retirada de la zona de separación flash se rnaintained en mayor que o igual a 1, preferiblemente mayor que o igual a 1.2.
