Abstract
Se proporciona un método para caracterizar de manera eficiente roca recorrida durante la perforación de un pozo de sondeo para el desarrollo de yacimientos de hidrocarburos. Puede obtenerse una muestra de roca que tenga una procedencia de colección vinculada a una región específica del pozo de sondeo, la cual se explora para obtener una imagen digital 2D que se segmenta en pixeles caracterizados como espacio de poro y como matriz mineral y que define un límite entre los mismos. Una relación de transformada, por ejemplo, una forma de la ecuación de Kozeny-Carman adaptada para la aplicación a un ambiente de imagen segmentada 2D, puede aplicarse para calcular el valor estimado para una propiedad de roca objetivo, la cual puede ser permeabilidad absoluta, permeabilidad relativa, factor de formación, elasticidad, coeficiente volumétrico, coeficiente de esfuerzo cortante, velocidad de compresión, velocidad de esfuerzo cortante, resistividad eléctrica, o presión capilar, y el valor estimado se utiliza para caracterizar la roca en esa región del pozo de sondeo. Esto ofrece una oportunidad para desarrollar de forma rápida y eficiente los datos masivos que caracterizan directamente las regiones extendidas de roca, ya sea recorrida por el pozo de sondeo en éste o un pozo relacionado. También se proporcionan sistemas computarizados, medios legibles por computadora, y programas para realizar los métodos.
