Abstract
La presente invención se dirige a un método para oxidar un compuesto orgánico presente en suelo, agua subterránea, agua de proceso o agua residual que comprende contactar tal compuesto orgánico con un persulfato y un ácido orgánico seleccionado del grupo que consiste de ácido ascórbico, ácido fórmico, ácido oxálico, ácido láctico y ácido cítrico, en donde la proporción molar de tal ácido orgánico a persulfato está entre 1:100 y 3:1.
