Abstract
Se proporcionan un sistema y método para el uso de flujo pulsado para circular algas en un aparato para cultivo de algas. A fin de contrarrestar los efectos negativos de la bioincrustación en equipos para cultivos de algas, se crea un flujo pulsado para mover periódicamente a través de un aparato para cultivo de algas. El flujo pulsado desprenderá las células de algas adheridas a diversas superficies del aparato, y también creará turbulencia para remover cualesquiera células de algas que puedan haberse depositado en el fondo del aparato. Para producir un caudal de fluido incrementado necesario para crear un flujo de pulso efectivo, un sumidero, que periódicamente se llena con cultivo de algas extraídas del aparato, se encuentra en una posición elevada por encima del aparato. Cuando se desprende, el cultivo de algas viaja a través de un tubo de transferencia y al interior del aparato con gravedad, provocando que el cultivo de algas fluya a un caudal muy elevado.
