Abstract

Se describen sistemas y métodos para una transferencia continua adaptativa por velocidad de bits en la cual dispositivos de reproducción seleccionan flujos con base en el retardo de cada flujo y la velocidad de transmisión de canales de acuerdo con las modalidades de la invención. Una modalidad de la invención incluye una memoria que incluye una aplicación para clientes y un tampón, y un procesador, donde la aplicación para clientes configura el procesador para: seleccionar un primer flujo de video de un conjunto de flujos de video alternativos, donde al menos una pluralidad de los flujos de video alternativos están codificados para tener un retardo de búsqueda fija superior que es igual o menor que el retardo de búsqueda fija superior de los flujos en el conjunto de flujos de video alternativos que están codificados a una mayor velocidad en bits máxima; solicitar bloques de información del primer flujo de video vía una conexión de red y almacenar los bloques de información solicitados en el tampón.
