Abstract

Composiciones y procesos para mejorar la clarificación de jugos y jarabes de azúcar en ingenios azucareros. El proceso incluye agregar composiciones directamente al jugo y/o al jarabe. Las composiciones que se proveen en la presente invención se mezclan íntimamente con los jugos de azúcar o jarabes, y se dejan reaccionar durante un tiempo suficiente con los jugos de azúcar o jarabes así como con todos los otros productos químicos que se agregan en los procesos de clarificación de manera de conseguir una mejora en la pureza del jugo o jarabe clarificado que se obtiene a partir de los mismos. Las composiciones incluyen por lo menos un reactivo de azufre paniculado que contiene por lo menos un átomo de azufre y por lo menos tres átomos de oxígeno, y uno o más sólidos particulados que se seleccionan entre el grupo que consiste en (A) un reactivo de sílice, (B) un reactivo de fósforo particulado que contiene por lo menos un átomo de fósforo y por lo menos tres átomos de oxígeno en su fórmula química, (C) un reactivo carbonáceo particulado, (D) un reactivo de aluminio particulado que contiene por lo menos un átomo de aluminio y por lo menos tres átomos de oxígeno en su fórmula química, (E) un coadyuvante de filtración particulado, (E) un decolorante polimérico, (G) un reactivo de amonio particulado que tiene por lo menos un grupo amonio (NH4) en su fórmula química, y (H) una tierra blanqueadora.
