Abstract

La presente descripción se relaciona con una combinación de enzimas que comprende una alfa-amilasa termoestable de pH bajo y una alfa-amilasa de Bacillus licheniformis. La combinación puede incluir por lo menos aproximadamente 1.0 unidades de dilución (LU) de la alfa-amilasa de B. licheniformis por cada 5.0 unidades Wohlgemuth modificadas (MWU) de la alfa-amilasa termoestable de pH bajo. La combinación de enzimas descritas es adecuada para licuefacción y sacarificación de almidón, producción de etanol y/o producción de edulcorante, entre otras cosas. En la presente también se proporciona un método de procesamiento de un almidón al licuar el almidón con la alfa-amilasa termoestable de pH bajo y la alfa-amilasa de Bacillus licheniformis, de manera simultánea o secuencial.
