Abstract

Composiciones de cemento son usadas para formar pieles sobre panales de cerámica, o para encementar panales más pequeños a otros panales u otros materiales para formar montajes. La composición de cemento contiene un relleno inorgánico y ya sea sílice coloidal, alúmina coloidal o ambos. El relleno inorgánico y los materiales coloidales suministran de manera individual o colectiva átomos de silicio y aluminio. La composición de cemento es quemada en la presencia de una fuente de flúor. Una fuente de flúor preferida es flúor residual que es contenido en un panal de mullita acicular. El fluór residual es liberado durante el paso de quemado y facilita la producción de mullita en la composición de cemento conforme es quemada.
