Abstract

Se proveen composiciones y métodos para conferir actividad insecticida a bacterias, plantas, células de plantas, tejidos y semillas; se proveen composiciones que incluyen una secuencia codificadora para un polipéptido de delta-endotoxina derivado de Brevibacillus; las secuencias codificadores se pueden usar en constructos de ADN o casetes de expresión para la transformación y expresión en plantas y bacterias; las composiciones también incluyen bacterias, plantas, células de plantas, tejidos y semillas transformados; en particular, se proveen moléculas de ácido nucleico de deltaendotoxina aisladas; además, están comprendidas las secuencias de aminoácidos correspondientes a los polinucleótidos, y los anticuerpos que se enlazan específicamente a esas secuencias de aminoácidos; en particular, la presente invención provee moléculas de ácido nucleico aisladas que tienen secuencias nucleotídicas que codifican la secuencia de aminoácidos ilustrada en la SEQ ID NO:2, 4, 7 ó 10, o la secuencia nucleotídica establecida en las SEQ ID NO:1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14 ó 15, así como también las variantes y fragmentos de las mismas.
