Abstract

The invention provides a system for the collection of energy comprising a plurality of piezoelectric devices incorporated in a road or a track and configured to produce electrical energy when a vehicle travels its location. The system includes an energy conditioning unit and electrical conductors that connect the piezoelectric devices to the energy conditioning unit. The collected energy can be used locally near the place of power generation, stored for later use or transferred for use in a remote location.
