Abstract

Un sistema de aglutinante bio-basado para el uso en la preparación de moldes de fundición. En una modalidad preferida, el sistema incluye el uso de a) un componente que contiene hidroxilo polimerizable que comprende un sacárido, b) un componente de isocianato, y c) un componente de catalizador, y de preferencia catalizador de amina, adaptado para catalizar la polimerización de a) y b), en la presencia de un agregado de fundición tal como arena. El sistema se puede utilizar de cualquier manera adecuada, incluyendo en ya sea un proceso de caja fría o en un proceso no de horno como es descrito en la presente.
