Abstract
Un método para incrementar el intervalo dinámico de datos de imágenes originales que representan una imagen que comprende aplicar una función de expansión para generar del original datos de imagen datos expandidos que tienen un intervalo dinámico mayor que el de los datos de la imagen original y, obtener un mapa expandido que comprende datos indicativos de un grado de luminancia de regiones asociadas con píxeles en la imagen. El método combina entonces los datos de la imagen original y los datos expandidos de acuerdo al mapa expandido para producir datos de imagen mejorados. El aparato para incrementar el intervalo dinámico de datos de imagen comprende un expansor de intervalo dinámico que produce datos expandidos, un analizador de luminancia que produce un mapa expandido y un combinador que combina los datos originales y expandidos de acuerdo a un peso variable proporcionado por el mapa expandido.
