Abstract

La presente invención proporciona métodos para expandir células de tallo de sangre de cordón umbilical humanas y métodos para estimular la producción de factor de crecimiento mediante células de tallo de sangre de cordón mediante el uso de un sistema de cultivo celular in vitro que comprende una sal de litio. La presente invención también proporciona métodos in vivo para mejorar la supervivencia y crecimiento de células de tallo de sangre de cordón trasplantadas mediante tratamiento de las células con una sal de litio antes del trasplante.
