Abstract
Una bomba de succión portátil para producir presión negativa en un sistema para aplicar succión a una herida, en donde la bomba tiene un circuito de control de presión para controlar la operación de la bomba para mantener la presión entre límites superior e inferior alrededor de una presión pre-seleccionada, y un sistema de detección de fallas para detectar desviaciones en el nivel de presión negativa aplicada a la herida; en donde el sistema de detección de fallas puede operar independiente del circuito de control de presión. En una modalidad preferida, el sistema de detección de fallas utiliza la desviación de un flujo de aire de referencia para detectar fallas en el sistema.
