Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a método para moldeo a un producto cerámico caracterizado porque consiste de los pasos de producir un molde que tiene un rebajo en el mismo de la configuración del producto que va a producirse, el molde estando construído de un material absorbente de agua, mezclar una masa de fibras cerámicas que tienen longitudes promedio menores de 6.35 milímetros (1/4 pulgada) y secciones transversales esencialmente uniformes con la masa de agua y un defloculante para formar una mezcla, las fibras en la mezcla están distribuidas casi uniformemente a través de la mezcla y están orientadas casi al azar una con respecto a la otra, la relación de agua a las fibras en la mezcla es menor que aquella requerida para proporcionar una consistencia de mezcla que fluirá, luego colocar la mezcla en el rebajo del molde y someter el molde y vibración para ocasionar que la mezcla fluya en contacto con el molde, a continuación, después de cierto período de tiempo suficiente para permitir que una gran cantidad del agua de la mezcla sea absorbida en el molde y después de que la mezcla que permanece en el rebajo se endurece, quitar el producto del molde y luego calentar el producto paa sinterizar las fibras que topan, una en la otra.
