How I Ruined My Group For Ritual Path Magic
I’ve always appreciated open-ended magic systems. I ran several campaigns of Mage: The Awakening, back when it was new. I loved the system presented in the 3rd edition GURPS Voodoo: The Shadow War. (It was the 90’s, everything was “Foo: The Bar”. Just like everything these days is “A Foo of Bar and Baz”, thanks for that, Mr. Martin.) And I loved it even more when it grew up through the Monster Hunters series into the the 4th edition GURPS Thaumatology: Ritual Path Magic system.
So, of course, just about ten years ago, I tried to introduce RPM to my group. And I ruined it for them. Listen to my tale of woe.
