It’s not clear if it’s possible to have only some categories of events have alerts (org-icalendar-alarm-time) and some not.

For example it would be awesome if appointments could have a 2 hour alert by default while “scheduled” and “deadline” items do not have an alert but are still visible in the phone’s calendar agenda. (As a workaround it’s probably possible to exclude them from the CalDAV export entirely.)

Org-mode’s manual.

Important: Scheduling an item in Org mode should not be understood in the same way that we understand scheduling a meeting. Setting a date for a meeting is just a simple appointment, you should mark this entry with a simple plain timestamp, to get this item shown on the date where it applies. This is a frequent misunderstanding by Org users. In Org mode, scheduling means setting a date when you want to start working on an action item.

Weirdly it doesn’t show how to “mark with simple plain timestamp”.

Termux packages are customarily installed from within a purpose-built terminal emulator application, but access is also granted to Emacs when it is built with the same application signing key, and its “shared user ID” is set to the same package name, as that of the terminal emulator program. The file java/INSTALL within the Emacs distribution illustrates how to build Emacs in this fashion.

Don’t do this if you already have Emacs installed with a different shared user ID, as the system does not allow programs to change their user IDs after being installed.

Emacs on Android seems like reading this manual section was necessary and I’m gonna have to refer to it again later.

Even Emacs, the best app of all time, can have bugs.

So if you have trepidation for starting an art project or programming project, just know that even the best can have flaws.♥︎

Sometimes I find myself frequently alternating between two functions that I am editing in conjunction with each other. In these situations, it is tedious and painful to keep on doing a C-s <
