Iran winning the war just shows how weak US really is. Best of all, Trump as being a big loser as he is still trying to sell it as he made something big for his country. In reality, however , Iran will get to collect money for every ship going through (up to 70 billion a year), the economy will takes years to recover, the oil facilities will take months to crank up again, the amount of money he spent doing nothing will burden Americans for generations. What a way to be a loser, small hands.

Because every ship is now being paid for to swim through there you can expect everything to jump in price.

Probably the only good thing Trump has done. He ripped off the mask that America was wearing, and showed everybody their true self.

Oh, I am just being silly. I have studied human rights my entire adult life and I only know a fraction of what the US has done and will do.

It would take more than my lifetime to just recite all the lives destroyed and atrocities committed by the US.

May never recover? 80 years ago, Germany was split in two and the depths of the holocaust were still sinking into the worldwide consciousness. Given enough time, it absolutely can recover. Probably not in my lifetime, but eventually it might. Or maybe it’ll end up like Yugoslavia, the Soviet Union, or the nation of Taiwan. Wait, that last one hasn’t happened yet… forget I said anything.

My man, the Earth has like 20-30 years of habitabiloty left max, and we are not really doing enough and we only started doing it all 30-40 years too late.

The US doesn’t have 80 years to recover thanks to the Climate Crisis.

Humanity has survived several mass extinction events. Short of something on the far end of cataclysmic (i.e. “no complex life survives”) humanity will endure. We’re highly adaptable and can eat anything.

That doesn’t mean that most of us will survive, or those that do are going to be having a good time.

That comments section is such a shitfest I might as well address some points…

People often prioritize “reputation” over other things, as if it is politically actionable or tangible. […]

Another word for “reputation” in this context is “soft power”. Basically, other states are not willing to play along USA, unless forced to. It’s exactly as “actionable” and “tangible” as the ability to force others to do your bidding (hard power).

As such the news should be read as “USA’s soft power is nowadays used toilet paper”.

The problem is that even if the US elects some nice centrist democrats for the 14 years every country is going to be thinking “What if they elect Trump v2?”

The so-called “centrist” democrats are not a relief from the problem. They are part of the problem. As I mentioned in another thread, Trump is not the cause of USA’s decadence, that idiot is at most a symptom. And perhaps a catalyser, since he’s a bit too stupid to hide what preceding presidents were already doing (such as trying to topple governments because they were defending the local interests instead of the cockroaches’. Cue to Allende).

So even if the population of USA elects those so-called “centrists”, any action they take will be seen as a continuation of the Trump regime. It’s over.

Regarding the democrats, I’m not so sure. I mean, yeah, they absolutely are part of the problem, but real politik-wise, I think the rest of the world wants to get back to “business as usual” as fast as possible. The “long term” reputation will still be stained, sure, but democrats will be treated like sensible people if they manage to get the US back to the negotiating table, for however long that may last.

Realpolitik-wise, when a state falls down, the others take turns kicking its teeth. And given Trump shredded any soft power USA had, the democrat in question will have two choices: either keep USA tumbling down into irrelevance, or act like the same Trump and use hard power. Because no, that soft power won’t be coming back, other states are simply too suspicious.

Or at least that’s what I predict, I may be wrong.

America is displaying an extreme mental illness epidemic. It isn’t just the nazi party and fanatics either. Americas Liberals are also mentally ill; supporting genocide but can’t achieve universal health care, maternity leave, child care, cheap higher education, etc, etc… all of these things indicate extreme corruption and sociopathy permeating American society and politics.

This isn’t something that the world will forget or forgive in 4-8 years. Even if Democrats were to win in a landslide, and prosecuted thousands of republicans and business leaders for their crimes and corruption — all spending the rest of their lives in prison — the world would keep America at arms length for multiple decades.

The “speak softly” era of American diplomacy is over, but the big stick is still bigger than ever. There is effectively a zero chance of anyone being willing to go toe to toe with the big stick. Although its possible the current leadership runs itself out of resources to wield the big stick against a large enough coalition of other countries. That part remains to be seen while we waste time fighting Iran for no reason

America as the world has known it is dead - there will be no mid terms.

What remains to be seen is how violent the collapse will be. The USSR’s death was pretty anti-climactic, I suspect it will be the same for the US - history doesn’t repeat, but it does rhyme

So the reputation of the post collapse factions/states/republics/dumpster bins etc will be what follows

…and No, we don’t want any states joining Confederation.

YOU are the problem now. If we tell them that we expect the worst from them, and we expect them to do nothing about it, and we expect them to disappoint us AGAIN, that’s exactly what they’ll do. They are politicians, they are inherently lazy, and if you give them permission to fail, they absolutely will, and go back to their insider trading.

We have to stop these sorts of posts, and make them see nothing but righteous indignant fury, and make them understand that we are angry at BOTH parties, and we are more than willing to take out our fury on both of them.

Politicians act out of fear, even more than greed. We have to make them fear us, in every way there is. They need to hear us DEMAND they will do what they are told, or else.

Put your outrage into posts that encourage the citizens, and frighten the politicians.

If you are American, YOU are the problem. You either voted for this baby raping, pencil dicked, power bottom for potus, or you didnt fight hard enough to stop it.

I am not American, thankfully and proudly.

Good luck in your civil war.
