One of the things noted about capitalism, in its raw form, is precisely that it breaks down all relations, both of love and hate, in its ever-churning process of self-destruction and recreation.
Perpetuating tribalism is more something capitalist elites attempt to do when they notice capitalism is under threat, shifting it back towards an even-more-gruesome feudal or despotic state of existence.
So more like “Capitalism will defend the elites with everything possible, even at the expense of the system itself”, which goes back to the core issue of capitalism from a leftist standpoint - too few people have too much power over it.
Institutions make decisions according to the interests of the decision-makers, not the institution’s, and all that.
