You can hear it in the backwoods with occasional loud cracks. Then you get a tree just disappear into a could and a loud “pow” and you see that a tree just spontaneously blew itself up.

That happened to my third wife when we were hiking in Alaska in -58 weather.
All the sudden I heard a loud crack like a gun shot and she just turned into red mist beside me.
This is why I stay away from trees.
