I bought some very nice merino wool last year December with the intention to crochet a scarf for the last few months of the winter. Of course I completely overestimated my skill and dedication, but at least it鈥檚 ready for this winter :)
This is my first large-ish project and as you can see, it really shows. It鈥檚 made from top to bottom(in the picture) and I had a lot of occasional increases to compensate for missing a stitch several rows earlier.
It was a good experience though, performing the same routine over and over again helped with developing my muscle memory. I feel like I now have a much better control over the tension and can produce a more consistent result.
The scarf consists of a moss stitch and was made with a 5.5 mm hook. Oh, and it鈥檚 really nice and warm :)
This is super cute! My first project was a blanket with super bulky, took 2 more blankets before I realised I hated the yarn, but the blankets themselves are nice. I have a terrible one I made in a dark car at the laundromat, I hate it because I kept missing stitches without noticing and one end is tiny. My friend saw it and told me to keep it to show my progress. Someday I might frog the bad half, but not yet.
Beautiful! I love the moss stitch, it鈥檚 very easy to get into a groove with and has a really nice texture as a result.
If you鈥檙e worried about the increase/decrease being noticeable, I鈥檇 recommend a border! The more elaborate, the more it鈥檒l disguise any defect (so limited results from a single stitch border and better results with scalloped for instance). But also don鈥檛 forget, you always have to have at least one error in your work or else you鈥檒l trap your soul in it 馃槈

I still have some wool left, so I might look into making a border, I hadn鈥檛 thought of that. It would make for a nice finish, regardless of the amount of errors that might still shine through :)
I thought this was one of those average daily temperature scarfs at first.
