Image
Here is an easy and colorful way to make Easter Decorations. We used: Thick white paper, assorted colors of crepe paper or tissue paper, glue and scissors. Glue on pieces of tissue paper to the white paper. With a mixture of water and glue (just add enough water to make it easy to spread on over the tissue paper). Allow to dry. Cut out the desired shapes.

I think these turned out so cute. They would make great magnets or gift toppers. We used: 2 craft sticks glued together (I was out of Large craft sticks), white and yellow paint, wiggly eyes, scissors construction paper, feathers, glue and ribbon. I cut out shapes to glue on the sticks. The cheeks for the bunny are not shown. Glue on the shapes, feathers, ribbon and eyes.

Paper Plate Easter Basket

Image
This is an Easter Basket that only takes a few materials. My Eggs look black but up close they have a lot of color. We used: Paper plate with a half circle cut out the one side of the middle, Easter grass and eggs. I used scratch off eggs, but you could also use construction paper cut into egg shapes. Glue on the eggs and Easter grass. These are done by my 2 year old class.

Easter Songs and Finger Play

Image
I found this great Easter Songs and Finger Play book here on Delicious Ambiguity. To go along with the songs I cut out and colored Easter Egg and Bunny coloring pages. I need to laminate them and glue them to craft sticks. I am going to give each child in my class a bunny and an egg to use to sing with the songs. I love this song: 5 little Easter eggs, Lovely colors wore; Mother ate the blue one, then there were four. 4 little Easter eggs, two and two, you see; Daddy ate the red one , now there are three. 3 little Easter eggs, Before I knew, Sister ate the yellow one, Then there were two. 2 little Easter eggs, Oh, what fun ! Brother ate the purple one, Then there was one. 1 little Easter eggs, See me run!!!! I ate the last one, And then there was none. This is just one of the cute songs you can find in this printable book.

Crab Crafts

Her class also has a pet hermit crab they takes turns caring for on the weekends. Here is another cute crab project my kids and I did a while back. The crabs are made from pasta shells. Go here for the directions.

Sparkling Rainbow

Image
Here is a fun way to make a rainbow in a different way. Even though the picture does not show it, it sparkles and has texture. We used: water color paints, salt and paper. Paint a rainbow with the water colors and while the paint is still wet sprinkle on the salt. And shake off the excess, just like glitter. It is really important that the paint is wet or the salt will not stick. You may need to paint the red, then add the salt, then paint the orange and sprinkle on the salt and so on. You can see Cheyanne really sprinkled on the salt.
