How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
It's a rage platformer, so if you get lucky when you fall you lose no progress, if you get unlucky you fall all the way back to the beginning of the game.

Really cool premise. Though I will admit I found it really hard to get the hang of bouncing around with the bombs. I only made it to the top of the first screen

this was way too hard to control if you ask me. I couldn't make it past the first screen. I felt like the bombs had different timers depending on how long I held the buttons beforehand, and I couldn't time my jumps accordingly if that was the case. when I did time my jumps right, the character was so loose in the air I couldn't land anything

character design and storytelling was awesome though, especially considering how many pixels are involved!

nice work

Quite charming! I'm happy to see Bomb King and the children doing well in the strange tunnel maze. The movement is also fun at times.

The audio balancing is off; the sound effects are much, much louder than the music.

I think a linear course of the exact same difficult platformer challenges with reasonable checkpoints would have paired better with the janky control scheme. Trying to add recursive failure highlights the biggest flaw of the movement system: there is no feedback for holding bombs and explosion timing.

All-in-all, good work! Congratulations on the submission!

I really like the intro and the art style, but I can’t get along with the controls and mechanics — probably just me though. Nice game.

Really love the art style of this game! More characters should be like Piku Niku LOL

love the story hahaha

aahhh this was so hard to control. Very polished but I had troubles with the double button press as it was tricky to maneuver

The plot cracks me up! Unfortunately, I was not skilled enough to make it to the top to take care of the orphanage once and for all.

Fun game but the approachability is rough. This isn't a control scheme I have a ton of experience with, but I played it enough to get past the first screen. My only real complaint is that the "put a bomb below you" command is both buttons at once (maybe select / b / a as options for the bomb?) and if you misinput you fall too. Given how precisely you need to input and time things, I was more frustrated at the controls than the level and mechanics!

Thank you for supporting controller as well!

I laughed so loud on the intro, it is beautiful.

I wish I could get the end of the story, but I severely lack the skill... I think I'm definitely going to come back to the game and try hard it xD

The graphics are really cute, and the color palette really caught my eye right at the beginning! Honestly it feels like a solid game! Maybe some feedbacks to indicate the timing of bombs would help?

But still, huge thank you to you, the last line of the intro made my day a happier one!

Did I get to the top? Alas, I did not, but I had a blast trying!

I had a similar idea for my game, something akin to a rage platformer, where the unluckiness manifests from how much your are punished for a mistake.  I really like your interpretation, though it is a bit hard for my tastes.  Well done!

nice intro, interesting gameplay idea but little difficult to get the mechanics

I definitely struggled with the difficulty of figuring out the launching mechanics as well.

It feels like the bombs should have more of a timer/fuse after they've hit the ground that has a lot of feedback so that players have a couple seconds to get into position for a proper launch, but really feel the time pressure once the bomb is on the ground.

Nice little back-story setup and a very cute presentation.

This certainly has a learning curve. I was able to get a couple decent high jumps, but my skill is not up to par with this game. I need more time and practice to fully appreciate it.

Presentation is really clean, and the intro cutscene in a jam entry is pretty much a luxury.
Awesome game!

Thank you very much. I appreciate it, there is a secret way to win the game if you think outside the box. I'll keep in mind the difficulty for the future. Again thank you :)
