The controls are weird, but the graphics are cool and the mechanics are neat.

How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
You play as the world’s worst and unluckiest cop, the only one able to decipher the Unlucky-Aliens’ hieroglyphs made of universal symbols of misfortune. Their cursed puzzles spread bad luck across Earth, and only by solving them can you stop the disaster. SudoGlyphics recreates the classic Game Boy look, complete with dithering, a limited grayscale palette, and a yellow police-tape border. Authentic controls complete the experience: move with the D-pad, confirm with A (Enter), and erase with B (Spacebar). Definitely not recommended for the superstitious.

Great idea to take the concept of Sudoku and evolve it to fit this jam’s theme! The controls were very intuitive. I’ve solved quite a few Sudoku puzzles in my life, but this one was quite challenging. The hieroglyphs made it much harder. I enjoyed playing as the world’s worst cop and also the worst Sudoku solver :D
It's a nifty way of playing with Sudoku. I got a bit lost towards the end of the puzzle and ended up falling short due to being tired in late hours, but I can attest that the similar symbol highlights whenever you're over a given symbol were super helpful in-game feedback to run through my logic easier.
The concept is great, and the sprites are also very nice. I wish the in-game controls were clearer. Since most games use keys like J K or X Z, I had to go to the description to even realize I needed to press Enter.
A funny idea, but I wasn’t able to place a symbol. Am I doing something wrong?
