Pop Will Eat Itself always maintained their punk attitude, even when producing acid house/new beat-influenced dub tunes like Touched By The Hand Of Cicciolina. Released as 'The Unofficial World Cup Theme' in Spring 1990, the tune samples football fan chants, tv speakers, a female opera singer, and features trumpet, piano, a mighty bassline, and a breakbeat at 112bpm. Only occasionally, Clint and Graham of the Poppies chant their slogan of 'Cicciolina for Italia 1990', but the tune is rather to be called an instrumental. It has stood the test of time remarkably well, and from today's perspective it can be said that Pop Will Eat Itself were on one level with acid dub pioneers Renegade Soundwave and Meat Beat Manifesto in 1990.

Candyland had a sweet tooth for Madchester: dope-fueled dance beats; choppy, lazy guitars; and slices of '60s psychedelic pop. Arguably more club-oriented than their peers, the multi-racial group (it featured members from Somalia and Jamaica as well as from the U.K.) was formed in London, England, by Felix Tod (vocals) and David Wesley Ayers, Jr. (guitar); Kenediid Osman (bass), Derrick McKenzie (drums), and Colin Payne (keyboards) were eventually added to the lineup. Gil Norton, renowned producer of post-punk acts like Echo & the Bunnymen and the Pixies, recorded the band's first demo. Even before the group's debut single, "Fountain of Youth," appeared, they were invited to perform at the Great British Music Weekend in Wembley.
Their first and only album, Suck It and See, was released In 1991, and although three singles were released from it (Fountain O’ Youth, Kingdom, and Bitter Moon), Candyland broke up later in 1991.

Lupine Howl were psychedelic indie rock band formed in Bristol, England in 1999 by Sean Cook (vocals, bass), Mike Mooney (guitar) and Damon Reece (drums). The three had been dismissed from their respective roles in Spiritualized by frontman Jason Pierce.

They kept the spaced-out psychedelic soul sound of their previous incarnation, but blended it with old American soul and a '60s garage sound to present an all-new vibe.
''Vaporizer'' was their first single, released on their own label Vinyl Hiss in 1999.
