Good bye, good bye, bye-bye Good bye, good bye, bye-bye Good bye, good bye, bye-bye Good bye, good bye, bye-bye Back on my bully with my passport in hand Fly through air in tin cans And ride bullets into foreign lands Homefolks like nope Couldn’t see dope through microscopes Feeling threatened and provoked Me and my true love elope Stream it live Give the ops something to talk about Downunder wrecking mics while they jealous of my walkabout It’s so sad to see these grown men cry I hope you really get a chance to truly live before you die Small city, smaller minds I’mma leave it all behind Girl just dry your eyes, I’ll think about you all the time We keep it proper from the Screwface to Osaka I’m a motherfuckin’ monster Yeah, what, what, who want it? This for the ones that try to make you feel small Acting like you isn’t shit when they know you a boss I see right through all the things you say or do And to deny me of my props is just a reflection of the bitch in you Good bye, good bye, bye-bye Good bye, good bye, bye-bye Good bye, good bye, bye-bye Good bye, good bye, bye-bye Remember this was just a pipe dream I’d never reach Now I’m overseas doing things you see in your sleep I bet it eats you up inside and you toss and turn ’til dawn Living rent free in your head, fantasizing ‘bout what’s going on Drunk, high, stumbling Little baggie got you fumbling I got three weeks of shows soon as I touch down in Dublin We’ve gone global Worldwide mogul Sipping green tea, eating sushi in Kyoto And it’s a beautiful day As the DJs spin my shit in the Champs-Élysées Hard act to follow Me and Bizzy on the Coquihalla In the Jaguar truck like, fuck tomorrow From East Van to Halifax Sydney to Belfast Only thing that’s on my minds is where do I go next Promoters if you’re booking you can link me direct It’s Mickey hit me back, yo, love and respect Good bye, good bye, bye-bye Good bye, good bye, bye-bye Good bye, good bye, bye-bye Good bye, good bye, bye-bye

I was beside myself All alone outside myself Trying to find myself Not caught up in the chaos, I align myself Abomination, I see through the distortion My frequency is tapped into the source when Got gratitude for attracting these blessings The journey is the real gift, people stop stressing We’re only gonna die. Look up at the sky and scream “Why oh why?” We’re only gonna die. Look up at the sky and scream “Why oh why?” We’re only gonna die. Look up at the sky and scream “Why oh why?” We’re only gonna die. Look up at the sky and scream “Why oh why?” Survival comes with some guilt and shame, but I know It’ll fade as time goes by The hurt comes and goes, but I know you know That this ain’t my first time The days are long, the nights are even longer Won’t stop the pain if I get high Heard in the end that this will make me stronger But I couldn’t say goodbye My friends gone ghost since they departed Alarming rates in my 20s it started Some made careers out that gangsta shit They caught some hot ones, at they wakes I wept More often than not these drugs gonna win, But that’s a story. I hope you never begin. Others took control of their own downfall And killed themselves because they sick of it all When my time come When my time come When my time come When my time come When my time come When my time come (Y’all could come) When my time come When my time come When my time come When my time come When my time come When my time come (Y’all could come) Stood up to life, I ain’t the only one That chose to stay and fight when most of them will surely run Observe the world from my throne Live half my life and I still can’t find home Ain’t got no kids, no queen to rule beside me My songs, my seeds, they’ll forever be my legacy The melodies, my memories that define me I beat the odds, killed the past, there’s no rewinding So rest in peace to those pieces of me Wealth success on its way, I can feel it coming There’s something in the air tonight From underground I emerge full of love and light Got out my mind now, I’m out of they sights Head down keep working, bring my art to new heights Still ask for favours ‘cause I used to be nice Nothings for free, everything’s got a price It’s the human condition Transition to the next world through lessons that’s wicked Don’t throw away your existence Cherish ever moment - hours, minutes and seconds So ’til I see all I’m suposed to see Do all I’m here to do Be all I had to be I have no fear of death And live to the fullest to my very last breath

I ain’t the one to suppress how I’m feeling And hold it all in ’til it affects my well-being I just call ’em how I see ’em If you didn’t wanna be with me, I appreciate you leaving Your love’s a lie Your personality is counterfeit Act up for attention ‘cause your father never gave you it Girl, your secret’s safe with me Vibin’ low, finessin’ men you know That’s not how you’re supposed to be I swear you’re so 3-D Materialistic mindset fucking up your Chi She ain’t pretty, she’s a devil in disguise Fake tits, perfect ass, black hair, and brown eyes I fell under her spell, it was a season of the witch Nine times out of 10 that dime piece a narcissist. The things you do for money girl I’ll never understand Smart enough to be a doctor but you choose to be a ho instead It’s ‘cause of you, now I’m singing the blues I’m fucked up, I don’t know what to do It’s ‘cause of you, now I’m singing the blues Was forever now, baby, we’re through It’s ‘cause of you, now I’m singing the blues I’m fucked up, I don’t know what to do It’s ‘cause of you, now I’m singing the blues Was forever now, baby, we’re through I’m in the storm’s eye sending our photos to the trash bin Snapshots of the good times get deleted like we’ve never been On the mend This hurt I try and pen Releasing all that’s toxic, try to learn to love again Heart grows cold as truths unfold Building up these walls I’m much better off alone I’m feeling sick, you infected my mind Thinking of a way to say farewell one more time Been a minute since we last spoke Maybe I should fill you in, DM, text, or call your phone I must’ve died a thousand times You go on back to him Hello darkness, dear old friend of mine Ain’t no sunshine, only overcast Raining tears for things that don’t last Yo, this too shall pass I wish I never saw or heard of ya I had a good heart, a great life Still alive but you’re a murderer It’s ‘cause of you, now I’m singing the blues I’m fucked up, I don’t know what to do It’s ‘cause of you, now I’m singing the blues Was forever now, baby, we’re through It’s ‘cause of you, now I’m singing the blues I’m fucked up, I don’t know what to do It’s ‘cause of you, now I’m singing the blues Was forever now, baby, we’re through

You can find me where the Guinness flows and Jameson gets shot up The whole lot of us, drowning sorrows to forget the troubles Come with me
Resistance in our DNA Now let us pray Where the cobblestones lay When the black and tans came with the Union Jack They fired rubber bullets at us so we threw bricks back Tear gas burned our eyes, it was an all that attack Loyalist to the Crown, they applauded and clapped Under occupation This was a peaceful demonstration They called it Bloody Sunday ‘cause civilians were slaughtered Left us dead in the streets, a revolution they started Now I rock a Irish lily for all the departed How long must they sing the song? How many gotta die? Tired of sitting back while these politicians lie Take it to another level, son, an eye for an eye Freedom for all, blow this up and shake the whole isle That’s the way that it is There’s no going back That’s the way that it is There’s no going back, no There’s no going back, no That’s the way that it is There’s no going back That’s the way that it is There’s no going back That’s the way that it is There’s no going back There’s no going back There’s no going back There’s no going back I’m from the place where the grass is green and seas and fields Filled up with pubs and dreams But the roads and the paths aren’t a sight to see Council estates and what they push to the back and leave All the nuts and cracks full ’til their brims pop While the best of the best soak it up and run the shop Whole place scheming Shaped up like a pyramid Underneath and on the main stage And make you heard of them (Don’t you know) They built a peace wall to divide us (Don’t you know) The gates close at six just to incite us (Don’t you know) There’s got to be a better way (Don’t you know) Thought we put this all behind us on Good Friday (Don’t you know) They built a peace wall to divide us (Don’t you know) The gates close at six just to incite us (Don’t you know) There’s got to be a better way (Don’t you know) Thought we put this all behind us on Good Friday (Don’t you know) Dreams so big they can’t fit in ballot boxes (Don’t you know) One republic, colonizers can’t stop it (Don’t you know) Movement’s building, generations are healing (Don’t you know) The greatest revenge will be the laughter of our children That’s the way that it is There’s no going back That’s the way that it is There’s no going back, no There’s no going back, no That’s the way that it is There’s no going back That’s the way that it is There’s no going back That’s the way that it is There’s no going back There’s no going back There’s no going back There’s no going back

Ladies and gentlemen, this is Captain Bizness speaking. We are beginning our descent to our destination. We are experiencing some slight turbulence, but you you all can still expect a smooooooth landing. On behalf of the entire crew, I would like to thank you all for choosing Nickel City Airlines once again. This is Nickel City Airlines 6500 signing off.

about

On his latest EP, Nickel City MC Mickey O’Brien takes us on a journey around the world with these five new songs he penned while on tour of Japan, Australia, Ireland, the UK, France and across Canada. These songs are postcards written by the MC to himself about what he was going through at the time, like a tour diary. Whether it was closing out old chapters of his life, learning about new philosophies in the East, or discovering his roots in Ireland, each song serves as a reminder of where he’s been as well as an opportunity for fans to experience a sliver of these trips. Post Cards is produced by Fresh Kils, co-produced by O’Brien, and is a family affair with features from many of his usual collaborators: Sarah Craig and Annie Q on vocals, Uncle Fester on cuts, Zachary Clement on keys, Geoff McCausland on violin, and new to the crew, Petr Balaz on guitar. The EP is available on coke bottle clear vinyl and in a CD package that includes a series of six postcards inspired by these songs, along with the usual digital release. With his Post Cards EP, you, too, can live vicariously through the voyages of Mickey O’Brien from the comfort of your own home!
